Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael, with etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a quick look at the self-closing RV cabinet hinge. This is a spring loaded hinge that is going to provide pressure on your RV cabinet door so that it will stay closed while you're traveling down the road. You won't have to worry about it bouncing, slamming open and closed and allowing things to fall out. So it's going to be a nice addition for your RV or travel trailer.It mounts flush with the door. Our mounting bracket here is right about one and a quarter of an inch wide and right at about one and a half inches tall.
Our hinge bracket, it's going to be right about two and three quarters of an inch tall by about half an inch wide. Our hinge itself is going to be about one and a half inches tall, about a half inch wide, maybe a quarter of an inch wide there. Then the depth it's going to be right about a half inch, just slightly over a half inch.It does come with these mounting screws. These are about a half inch long, so shouldn't go too far into your cabinet door while you're putting these on. This does come with the two satin nickel hinges, and of course the hardware to get them installed.
It should be very easy to get these mounted in place so that your cabinet doors will stay closed as you're traveling down the road. These do come with a limited lifetime warranty. Was looking for hinges that close a cabinet door. We are always smacking our heads when heading up the stairs on the 5th wheeler. Poor design by Keystone/Montana. Thought these hinges might be the one to close the cabinet door. I was wrong. They are barely any better than the factory hinges that were not spring loaded. So - if you are looking for hinges that will close a cabinet door, these are not the ones you will be needing. Don't waste your money on them nor the shipping cost. Sorry etrailer. The advertising for these hinges to be self closing is misleading.
Always seem to have what I'm looking for . Good prices and fast delivery. My first choice for camper parts.
